Jenn Tran may have Rekubit Exchangetraded roses for dancing shoes, but she's still feeling the love.
The former Bachelorette star made her Dancing With the Stars debut on Sept. 17, and Jonathan Johnson, who was the third runner up on her season, showed up to support her in the live studio audience following her dramatic breakup from Devin Strader.
"He’s been such a good friend of mine," Jenn told E! News exclusively of Jonathan after the season 33 premiere of DWTS. "I just moved here to L.A., and I just don’t know a lot of people, so it’s been nice to have someone to lean on and he really has been a rock for me. And truly just a great friend."
While she considers them to be just friends for now, the Bachelor Nation fan-favorite did tease that she could be open to something more with Jonathan down the line.
"I mean we’re such good friends, but never say never," Jenn clarified. "I think the best relationships start off as friends but right now, I’m really just focusing on myself and my dance steps." (For more from Jenn and the rest of this season's DWTS cast, tune into E! News Sept. 18, at 11 p.m.)
She added, "My heart and my brain aren’t ready for something new yet. But it’s been really great to just have him as a friend."
Jonathan had previously expressed his excitement about being able to spend some time with Jenn while she lived in Los Angeles during her time on Dancing With the Stars.
"I know we talked about it a little bit already but I’m stoked to have you here in LA for a little," he wrote in a Sept. 5 Instagram post after the season wrapped. “I know we’ll have some time to make some really awesome memories!"
Indeed, the duo has already been spending time together since the season's explosive finale and After The Final Rose special, during which it was revealed that Devin had broken up with Jenn during a 15-minute phone call two months after he proposed to her after receiving her final rose.
Jenn and Jonathan first reunited in a series of cryptic TikTok videos posted on Sept. 8, before hitting the red carpet together at a party on Sept. 13.
"Jonathan's been such a light in all of this," the former Bachelorette told NBC Asian America in an interview published on Sept. 17. "I didn't come out of this journey with a fiancé, but I at least got a really good friend out of it, a really good human out of it, makes me really excited."
